Classes

Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in, water and your yoga mat (not required), and an open mind to learn something new.

What to expect in YogAlign class:

  •  Take the time to discuss any posture concerns, questions, or injuries you may have/ had in the past (please arrive 15 minutes before class). Class sizes are small, held indoors in a non-competitive atmosphere, and are an hour long. You will gain a whole new awareness of your body and lay the foundation for a regular self-care YogAlign practice. We will use props – yoga blocks, blankets, yoga straps, and balls (please feel free to bring your own).
  •  Awakening breathing muscles, teaching them to work in synergy to tone, align and strengthen the core without inhibiting movement. By learning to breathe from your diaphragm with The Core SIP Breath Technique. The Core SIP Breath (SIP – Structurally Informed Posture) informs your body of how to be in good posture by aligning you from the inside out.
  •  Learning and practicing the various YogAlign postures will allow you to activate your psoas muscle – the core of your core muscle. Establish natural spine alignment and become balanced and pain-free in your body. Using; PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) a more advanced form of flexibility and strength training. Both stretching and contracting of the targeted muscle(s).
  •  Practicing self-massage increases your circulation and space in your body by freeing up the fascia. Fascia is a band or sheet of connective tissue, primarily collagen, beneath the skin that attaches, stabilizes, encloses, and separates muscles and other internal organs. That allows you to relax and reset the tension in your whole body.
  •  Completing your practice with stillness (savasana) by lying on your back on your mat with a blanket rolled up under your knees, supporting your body’s natural curves and lower back. You will have the opportunity to close your eyes, maintaining the balance between relaxation and meditation two, components of yoga.

Private YogAlign Classes

Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in, bring water and your yoga mat (not required), and an open mind to learn something new.
I recommended that the first YogAlign session be a minimum of 2 hours, and the investment for your first 2-hour private YogAlign session is $200.00.
Before and after photos will be taken on the first and last day of three private sessions.

What to Expect in Your Private YogAlign Session:

  • Discussion regarding your previous or current injuries, pain, and yoga experiences, if any (not required)
  • Assessment of your current body posture, challenges, and future goals
  • Breathing evaluation and instruction of the YogAlign Core SIP Breathing Technique
  • Instruction of YogAlign postures with the use of props: yoga blocks, blankets, and yoga straps (please feel free to bring your own)
  • Self-massage instruction (may include specific massage balls of various sizes)
  • A few tips on functional movement during your favorite activities and everyday life.
  • Putting it all together and creating a safe and effective YogAlign practice just for you!
  • Stillness (savasana) is a time to feel the effects of your practice
  • Discussion and feedback on moving forward with your private sessions.
